Maršala Tita 55/II
Chamber Theatre 55 was founded in 1955 in the wake of the new theatre movement in Europe at the time. The founder of the theatre was a prominent Sarajevo theatre maker Jurislav Korjenić (1914 – 1974). Since its establishment, the Chamber Theatre 55 fosters a research, and experimental model of theatre expression. The Gabrijel Gallery and the Chamber Theatre String Quartet are also active within the Chamber Theatre 55. Aggression and the siege of Sarajevo hold a special place in the history of the theatre, with 28 premiers of high artistic performance in impossible conditions, and at the times when the theatre was one of the most important urban centres of “cultural resistance to aggression.”
Performances start at 20:00 hours.
